How stream_ON Works

stream_ON Tracker
The stream_ON tracker is the bridge between SIRIUS, the radio and SIRIUS, the online stream.  It receives the full song data from a SIRIUS radio and uploads it to a web server.  From here, stream_ON can retrieve this data for the purpose of listing the artist and title on all of the channels.  The song data is also used to provide seek alerts for favorite artists and songs, similar to the way your SIRIUS radio does.

In order to retrieve this data, a SIRIUS radio, fitted with a special computer interface card (shown below), is used.  This is the SIR-ALP1 Sirius Connect receiver.  The interface card is manufactured by www.rush2112.net.  The radio is connected to a PC via a standard serial port, which sends the radio's data to the stream_ON tracker software (shown to the right).

Both the radio and the software run 24/7 to provide listing data to stream_ON, itsonsirius.net, and other sites.
